Business Analyst, Finance

Gildan is a vertically-integrated marketer and manufacturer of quality branded basic apparel. The Company is the leading supplier of activewear for the screenprint market in the U.S. and Canada. It is also a leading supplier to this market in Europe, and is establishing a growing presence in Mexico and the Asia-Pacific region. The Company sells T-shirts, sport shirts and fleece in large quantities to wholesale distributors as undecorated “blanks”, which are subsequently decorated by screenprinters with designs and logos. Job Description

Reporting to the Director, IT Business Solutions - Corporate, as Finance Business Analyst, you will be responsible for in-depth business process requirements analysis, business process re-design and translation of business related requirements into functional specifications that will lead into the configuration and/or development of effective systems solutions.  You will also lead and participate in the following activities: testing, preparation of training guides and other supporting documents, training business users, deployment of solutions, as well as post go-live support.

 

Main Tasks

  • Analyze and provide business solutions to support the financial aspects of all the core business processes, such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Distribution and Order to Cash;
  • Provide daily support of the JDE production systems including investigating and resolving complex user questions related to the financials. (Level 2 support tasks will also be assigned to you.);
  • Develop documentation and specifications, lead and/or work within implementation teams, which may include external consultants;
  • Conduct reviews, walkthrough and solution testing to ensure that deliverables are achieved within accepted SDLC and PMO guidelines;
  • Conduct training and post-implementation support.

 

Experience and Skills Required

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification;
  • Be-holder of an accounting accreditation (CA, CMA, CGA) is an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivables (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and General Ledger (GL) and Product costing and manufacturing accounting modules;
  • 4-6 years of JD Edwards Functional Experience;
  • Implemented IT projects in a fast paced environment;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French;
  • Good interpersonal skills and desire to work with a wide variety of people;
  • Able to travel 20% of the time outside of Canada.
