Systems Analyst, JDE E1 CNC

Gildan is a vertically-integrated marketer and manufacturer of quality branded basic apparel. The Company is the leading supplier of activewear for the screenprint market in the U.S. and Canada. Job Description
Systems analysts that work in this field are known as JDE CNCs. Usually , a CNC will be in charge of software change management which deploy changes in the JDE ERP system through the various stages of development, testing and production. Also, they will troubleshoot performance issues and will manage the entire JDE systems architecture.
Tasks
- J. D. Edwards installation
- Batch job queues setup, batch job administration
- Planning and installation of business application patches also called electronic software updates or ESUs as well as underlying foundational code or programs called tools releases or service packs.
- Building and deploying changes to the business applications called package builds
- Management of various development, testing and production business environments which are self-contained sub-systems
- Job queues, batch administration and printer configuration
- Server Manager system management console basic skills
- Refreshing and optimization of the underlying database, working with database administrators
- Basic system auditing and performance tuning tasks
- Development of software tools and processes automate repetitive CNC tasks
- Remote CNC management through various secure access systems.
- Database Maintenance: Performance monitoring, tuning capacity planning and patching.
- Collaborate with developers to perform walk-thru's to analyze SQL code efficiency.
- DB2 backups, Reorgs, Runstats, Space monitoring
- Installing and maintaining DB2 environments includes creating databases, buffer pools, logical and physical design of database storages using DMS/SMS tablespaces
- Maintain DB2 security administration includes handling instance / database level authorities
- Deal with DB2 locking mechanisms
Qualifications and required experience
- Proven experience/expertise in complicated EnterpriseOne installations/upgrades in large-scale (often global) implementations.
- Database management and experience/expertise with SQL databases such as Oracle, SQL and DB2/400 with regards to EnterpriseOne.
- Data Conversion using EnterpriseOne development tools.
- Performance tuning of applications and web servers using Server Manager to analyze kernel processes and obtain log file for detailed analysis.
- Advanced problem solving skills.
- Advanced expertise in the technical architecture for EnterpriseOne (e.g. Citrix servers, web server, deployment/installation server, batch server in multiple OS situations including Windows, OS/400, Unix, VMWare and J. D. Edwards Portal Server.
- Experience in adding custom environments and custom datasourse setups.
- In depth knowledge of CNC mapping configuration changes using Object Configuration Manager (OCM).
- Expertise in multiple JDE system software configurations (multi-foundation), Tools Release Updates.
The ideal candidate should have
- University, college degree or relevant experience
- 5 years experience as E1 CNC expert ise
- 3 years experience DB2
- Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work with a wide variety of people.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to handle complex problems.
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and French
