Gildan is a vertically-integrated marketer and manufacturer of quality branded basic apparel. The Company is the leading supplier of activewear for the screenprint market in the U.S. and Canada. It is also a leading supplier to this market in Europe, and is establishing a growing presence in Mexico and the Asia-Pacific region. Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, the incumbent shall be responsible for overseeing the product costing and manufacturing accounting, within the supply chain.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administration and maintenance of cost accounting systems, operating financial statements and reports to assist in the financial management of the company.

Coordinate the yearly standard cost update exercise in conjunction with the individual factories.

Oversee Performance of "Quick Cost Estimates" within 24 hours to assist in make or buy decisions.

Manage and ensure accurate and timely execution of all month-end deliverables.

Maintain proper documentation to support SOX & the quarterly/annual External Audit.

Provide various operational areas with required financial data, reports and analysis, when necessary enhance and leverage the existing systems, analyses and reports as they relate to factory performance, product costing, manufacturing accounting and actual cost.

Update current and develop new policies and procedures based on new requirements and controls.

Provide financial oversight, JDE support and ensure proper execution of Corporate Costing policies and procedures.

Support the ongoing roll out of full manufacturing variance accounting throughout the supply chain and the integration of JDE systems.

Participate in the transition of all day-to-day departmental transactional activities to the manufacturing sites.

Participate in all systems-related process automation / integration affecting Corporate Costing.

Supervision of an Analyst.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Administration or equivalent,
• Minimum of 8-10 years in Costing,
• Certified professional in accounting with designation: CA, CGA, CMA,
• Solid working knowledge of standard product costing and manufacturing accounting, general and cost accounting principles and practices, reconciliations, budgets, data collection, preparation of variance reports,
• Above average skills in mathematical calculations and applications, analysis, judgment and communications,
• Working knowledge of the following Financial software tools: JD Edwards, Crystal Reports, Hyperion, Excel,
• Fluency in English and French (spoken & written), Spanish would be a definite asset.
• Comfortable in an entrepreneurial and changing environment.
